Sweet Chocolate
February 10, 2008
A client I had last week had a petite figure with a face of a sweetheart
Reminded me of a “Perempuan Melayu Terakhir” syndrome, with her graceful face and shy smile.
She wanted something simple and nothing too overdone. Her outfit for The Engagement Party was peachy-yellow with dark brown beads. I decided that soft-chocolate would suit her eyes just right and peach colored lips topped with fake eyelashes and a dose of pink blusher.
A Mother of Two with the Arabian do’ :)

Mazura was my client for last weekend and it wasn’t hard to make her look pretty because she has eyes that was screaming to be made up and eyebrows screaming to be arched
The theme for her do’ was getting her all ready for a masquerade dinner, and I had to pair her dark brown dress-cum-kebaya top (which was really lovely!!) with some smokin’ shades of also brown, so I used Bobbi Brown’s Mahogany eyeshadow and MAC’s Pigment in Silver Fog (very smooth pigments which is perfect for nitewear but difficult to apply if you are not careful), MAC’s powder blush in Melba, Maybelline’s MegaSparkle Pink Glitter, Aqua Lipstick in NudeĀ and Maybelline’s MegaSlicks Lipgloss in Cherish.
I was very generous in the eyeshadow usage because we needed to create a dark effect as we make the lips nude. Mazura loved Maybelline’s MegaSlicks Lipgloss in Cherish a lot (I love it too!) because it taste of Watermelon
Well, I got it at this dinky store in New York for $1.99 !!
So as we got her ready, she donned this beautiful scarf that automatically turned the mother of two into a Cleopatra lookalike
One of my favourite clients!!

Heavy on the eyes
February 1, 2008
This is one of my best friends, Raihan on her wedding day. She’s half arab and requested that I make her look like an Egyptian movie star- you know, where they put excessive eyeshadow
If you can see that tint of blue line on her top lids, that’s MAC’s glitter eyeliner which I draw on her eyes for that glittery effect.
This tells us that its actually OK to put on that ‘smoky look’ on your wedding day. Wedding makeup is very modern now, its not just neutral all the way. Some brides really want to look “glam” on their big day instead of “soft and sweet”.
Raihan has one of the most amazing eyes I have ever seen- it was easy to work on it

The first class: One-tone eyeshadow
January 31, 2008
The easiest and most primary of eyeshadow application is the one-tone eyeshadow. Just apply on edge of lids and BLEND well. Highlight the bone of the eyebrow with white or light cream color.
Green is not an easy color to play with because it is so contast with our ski color in many ways. But as long as you keep it light and not gaudy, anyone will be able to pull it off.
My model for this exercise wa Nad, one of my bestest girlfriends. We trimmed her eyebrows into soft light lines and puffed up the cheeks to pinky tones. Green eyeshadow suited her well that day because she was wearing a dark green tee.
Cute, isn’t it?
